Clay Walker in-studio
(March 13, 2003)
RCA is the new home of Clay Walker. RCA Records and multi-platinum selling singer Clay Walker will join together and release an album in late ‘02 or early 2003. Clay’s impressive resume includes 11 number one singles, scores of Top 10 hits and more than eight million albums sold.
The Beaumont, Texas native exploded on the country music scene in 1993 with his number one debut single, "What’s It To You." He was named the Best Male Artist by the trade publication R&R that same year. "All of us at RCA and RLG are thrilled to have Clay as part of our company.
He is a great singer and entertainer and his best days are in front of him. He has put together a great team of people around him and we are having a ball working together," says RLG Chairman Joe Galante. On joining the RCA Label Group Clay remembers, "The first time I ever dreamed of making a record was when I held the RCA 45 of Elvis’ "Hound Dog," and the image of Nipper etched in my memory."
He continues, "I am thrilled to be working with Joe Galante and a team that has proven itself time and again.
Thanks to Clay for stopping in and making the hearts of all the women at the station, beat just a little faster today!
