Ashley began her radio career in 1991...kind of by accident.
She was the Promotions Director at Oldies KOMA-FM in Oklahoma
City. One afternoon she was bringing the afternoon DJ his prize
sheets. Ashley said it was obvious he was under a lot of pressure.
So he handed Ashley the traffic and said "read this."
The General manager asked her to come back as Dave's "traffic
girl."
Over the next few months it went from traffic reports to
a full blown afternoon show...and a radio career was born.
Ashley and Dave took the show from #5 to #1 and maintained
those numbers until Ashley decided to try her luck in Los
Angeles.
Ashley's first job in LA radio was doing traffic from Metro
Networks for stations such as KABC, KNX and KLSX. She continued
to do traffic for 2 years, which expanded to include a weekend
shift on KABC and fill-in on KNX. She's also done national
and regional commercial voiceovers, including Honda.
After a self-imposed two year hiatus to raise her newborn
daughter, Ashley went back to work in the summer of 2000 doing
mornings at Southern California's 92.7 Lite FM. Ashley's currently
working as the traffic reporter for the Peter Tilden Morning
Show. When describing her role, she says she tried to provide
balance and a female perspective in a male-driven room...but
more importantly, she helps look at life in a funny and positive
way.
In her spare time, Ashley enjoys snow skiing and scrap-booking.
She's also learning to sew as well as sign language. Ashley
loves the beach and says that's her favorite place to hang
out. She especially enjoys relaxing there with her family
and watching the sun set over the ocean. But she says a close
second would be the mall...she absolutely loves shopping and
hanging at the mall!
Ashley currently lives in Southern California with her husband,
Neil, and their two beautiful daughters, Erica and Lauren....and
their dog Montgomerie. When asked what she'd be doing if she
wasn't in radio, Ashley said that besides being a full time
mom, she'd want to work at an advertising agency (that was
one of her degrees in college).
